Who we are

If you know the pub, you’ll no doubt be aware of the state it was in .We figured that if the pub could survive under those conditions, if it was run properly if it was run properly and enough blood, sweat, tears (and money) was pumped into it there was a fighting chance that with enough support from our customers we would eventually create something to be proud of.

Where we cook

Our hall is dominated by the ‘Giant’s Chair
New kitchen providing good old traditional pub food served in a newly finished dining room
Our dining room has patio doors which open onto the decking
The lower level of the dining room is ideal for wheelchair

Come and Stay with us

If you would like to stay a bit longer we have rooms available These were originally intended for use by fisherman and as such are very simply furnished but clean and comfortable

Facilities

Our dining room has patio doors which open onto the decking, and also over looks the river; a quieter atmosphere if the bar is busy; sorry, the dining room is a dog free zone.

As a Free House, we offer Real Ales and Traditional Pub Food with the odd surprise! Tasty food at realistic prices: together with clean, simple accommodation if required.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our beers and Traditional Ales from the Otter Brewery in Devon, and more locally, the Wye Valley Brewery in Stoke Lacy.
