Cleevely memorials

A direct descendant of the Cleevely craftsmen of Charlton Kings, Christopher is proud of his ancestry and the fact he has inherited the ability to work artistically with his hands just as his forefathers did before him.

Christopher has been a monumental mason all his life. He began as an apprentice at E. M. & F. Willets in Cheltenham in 1980 under the watchful eye of Frank Stephens where he was taught century old skills by some of the best masons in Gloucestershire. He continued to work at Willetts until due to ill health Frank Stephens sold the company to a chain of memorial masons in 1992.

It was then that Christopher began working for himself. A skilled craftsman, respected by both his customers and other masons for his perfectionism and attention to detail, meant his business soon became established.

In 2004 in need of space to expand his business and with his wife Caroline having recently joined the business as a partner, it was time to move the business to its present location at 83 Prestbury Road, Cheltenham.
Moving the business enabled investment in machinery, offering clients more choice about how they wanted the memorials completed and allowing us to complete the majority of work ourselves in our own workshop.

With clients being able to come and see their memorials being worked on and being encouraged to be involved as much as they wanted to with the finer details of their memorials, the business went from strength to strength.

This enabled us to be able to invest still further, when in 2006 we opened the largest indoor showroom in Gloucestershire.

In 2008 we obtained a third unit which is used for the secure storage of memorials required following the interment of a loved one.
You can find our showroom in the small industrial area directly behind 83 Prestbury Road, Cheltenham. Number 83 is on the right hand side of the road if you are heading towards Prestbury village, it is directly opposite Selim Smith funeral directors.

We are proud of the showroom we opened in 2006. It is the largest showroom in Gloucestershire with over 80 memorials to view. It has many different materials on show to enable clients to make a more informed choice about what they require.

We have a wide selection including vases, cremation memorials, statues, lawn memorials, full kerb sets and individually designed memorials.

We have examples of hand carved, shadow punched and sandblast designs along with different types of lettering for you to view.

We offer 10% discount on anything purchased from stock with the exception of our all inclusive special offer memorials.
